Law is one of the noblest professions of all times. This is the reason why lawyers flaunt their white shirts and black blazers. They are proud citizens who provide justice to the needy and help punish the guilty. People come to lawyers with their problems and expect them to find a solution to it. To become a lawyer, however, is not an easy task. One has to sit for long hours and study the theories and legal practices.

There are so many acts in the Constitution of India and all of them have to be studied and analyzed carefully by them. Lawyers also need to know how to apply various laws in different situations during a court proceeding. Getting into a law institute is not an easy task. The student has to give various exams and qualify the eligibility criteria to be able to secure admission in a law college. Haryana is a versatile state with people excelling in various fields.  There are many law schools in this state and some of them have been mentioned below:

  • Swami Devi Dyal Law College: This College was founded in 2000 and is a part of Swami Devi Dyal Hi-Tech Education Academy. It aims to give professional education to its students in the field of law. The University offers a three-year LLB course and a five-year integrated course. The candidate must be 12th pass with English as a core subject and a minimum of 50% marks to be able to secure admission in the 5-year programme. To seek admission in the 3-year course of the college, the candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline.


  • Chhaju Ram Law College: This college was founded in 2003 and aims at providing professional education in law to its students and also to be at par with all the other institutes in the country. It offers both 3-year law and 5-year law course. It is a self-financing institute situated in Hisar. Its objective is to provide education with the latest technology available, increase the full-time faculty and improving the academic excellence.



  • Geeta Institute of Law: This College was founded in 1992 by S.P. Bansal in the city of Panipat. He worked for the Upliftment of the underprivileged and weaker sections of the society. This University is well known for its education in Engineering, Science & Technology, Management and Law in the National Capital Region. It is one of the best law Institutes in Haryana offering both three-year and five-year law courses to its students. This University has an experienced faculty and the best in class infrastructure, which makes it a good option for the candidates.

  • Lala Amichand Monga Memorial College of Law: The vision statement of the College states "Bringing out the best in humans through quality teacher education in global perspective & Self - realization to build a nation. “The College is famous for its library which contains many books, journals, and magazines related to law. Their motto is to teach by giving practical knowledge to the students. So, it organizes many moot competitions for its students in which they can compete with students from various different universities. It is known for its diversity as students from all over the country come to study here. The College has won many awards for its performance in different competitions.


  • University Institute of Law and Management Studies: This University was founded in the year 2000 and is maintained by the M.D University, Rohtak. The infrastructure of the University is worth appreciating as it is spread across 7 acres of land. It offers both three-year and five-year law course to its students and offers quality education in various fields including MBA (regular and executive).

  • Lala Hansraj Phutela College of Law, Sirsa: This University is a center of excellence in legal studies and is one of the best colleges in Haryana. The motto of this University is “Centre for excellence in legal education.” It offers a three-year LLB course to its students. The College has a huge library and a good hostel. It also has an anti-ragging cell to protect the students from any kind of exploitation.


Therefore, there may be a lot of options available for the students who want to pursue law but getting into a law school is not an easy task. So, every student aspiring to become a lawyer should have good reading habits from the beginning so that he/she does not have any problem in learning the theory subjects. Also, a law graduate has many other options which he can pursue other than becoming an advocate. He may go into the teaching field, or become a journalist, photographer or so on.
