You can get in to variety of job roles after doing after doing your graduation in Computer Engineering. However it is important to map the necessary skills to the job role that you want to work on. Otherwise it may not be suitable for you. I am going to classify the job roles based on your skills and expertise:

If you are good with your programming skills andyou have a good aptitude and nice understanding of data architecture andoperating systems - the top software companies are waiting for you with a lucrative profile. The job role will involve a lot of programming and you will have to meet the deadlines too.

If you are interested in hardware and programming, you can go in to the electronics industry and chip designing roles. The roles are very challenging and demand good knowledge of both hardware and software. But then they pay a lot too. The robotics field can be a good option too.

If you are not too keen on programming aspect then you can go for Analytics or software companies for the Analyst role where you will mostly be dealing with Analytics/Software tools and programming skills won't matter much. Basic understanding of SQL will be of great help. You can also get in to some of the top consulting firms for similar roles.

You can go for the governement/public-sector jobswhere you won't have to work on programming skills and strict deadlines. The work will be mostly managerial.

IT sector in India has plenty of jobs for computer science graduates. Candidates from top engineering colleges however get attractive job offers from Multinational ITcompanies in comparison to not so known engineering colleges. Additionally, candidates with high percentage of mark and good communication skills as well as sound computer knowledge do not face problem in getting a job whether they are from a reputed engineering college or not. Computer engineers can get jobs in non-IT companies like universities, research, private and public industries, government departments, business organisations, commercial organisations and the manufacturing sector, etc.

Besides the Computer Engineers have plenty of options to work in IT companies in departments such as design, development, assembly, manufacture and maintenance, etc. Working as programmer, web developer, and E- commerce specialist with telecommunications companies, automotive companies, aerospace companies, etc. can be a lucrative career option as well. Moreover, numerous national and multi-national computer manufacturing companies, computer hardware system design and development companies, computer networking companies, software development companies, etc. require computer professionals in large numbers.
