There will be quite a few differences if you get your Human Resource Management degree from India or abroad:

  • If you are looking to get an MBA HR from abroad, in that case some quality work experience as an HR professional would be required. In India you can go for the MBA without even prior work experience.
  • If you are keen to get your Management degree from abroad, you need to pay huge amount of tuition fee compared to Indian B Schools where your expenditure would be far less.
  • The placement opportunities and average salary are more in foreign universities compared to Indian ones.
  • You need to take in to considerationw where do you want to work after the degree. If you are getting a foreign MBA degree and are keen to work in India, it may not be a good return on your investments
    .
  • The diversity in foreign B Schools is more compared to Indian B Schools. Therefore you will get better opportunities to develop your interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The international experience is given priority by the companies while hiring for manager positions. Therefore, a foreign degree will be advantageous.
  • Please do take in to consideration the costs involved and your comfort in moving to a different country, else it can be a problem for some people.

Hello

Human Resource Management

Thank you for choosing Mera career guide and writing to us. Choosing abroad study is always an attractive and rich experience. There are many advantages over it compared to studying only within your home country institutions. As you have also asked on the difference it would potentially make when studying Human resource management, I shall brief it down here for you.

  • Studying MSc Human resource management is highly recognised abroad as this degree is not often offered by most of the Indian institutions. Where in MBA Hr is quite popular every where. around the world. Students who have no prior work experience are well eligible to apply for MSc Human resource management.
  • Studying human resource abroad would ideally help to understand policies and procedures of companies operating within a country. For example if you study in Europe, you will get to learn the policies practised in each country and if you study in an UAE country, you will learn their practices. This will give you added knowledge on how policies are practiced at various country levels and in future if you want to work in that country, it will prove advantage for you.
  • International human resource management: Studying abroad in this subject is an added advantage because you will learn human resource management policies practiced on cross cultural contexts. Ideally you will most often compare Indian policies with an another country practices.
  • Diversity management: This is a subject that is often given a lot of emphasis when studied abroad than in India. Diversity means managing a variety of people from different religion, country, cultures and background. This subject is often included abroad and not in India and it will help HR people to understand on managing a variety of people on their day to day work.
  • Organisational psychology/Management psychology/Organisational behavior/Change management: All these subjects are often included in a HR abroad degree where most often they gets missed in Indian syllabus. This lays an emphasis on psychology and understanding of people's behaviour in organisations. Abroad HR syllabus often include every spec of this in their HR degree where in India most often not each of the sub groups are included.
  • Full time job opportunities: You have good chances of securing job abroad depending on the country and visa opportunities you graduate from. This also offers potential growth on an international environment.
  • PhD level opportunities: You can also choose doing an intensive research degree specifically like the PhD Human resource management wherein in India, it is a part of the PhD Management.
  • Chartered opportunities: This is the main advantage between studying in India and abroad. Abroad, HR has Chartered level opportunities where in in India, it is not there.
