MBBS

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. This is five years undergraduate degree course for anyone who wants to be a doctor or any medical professional aspirant. To get admission for the MBBS course at any well known medical colleges in India like AIIMS, aspirants must have to pass the entrance exam of NEET – National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, with a good score. After completion of five years of the course aspirant will have to join any reputed hospital or medical college as an intern for a minimum of six months. After successful completion of the internship, aspirants can register themselves with MCI – Medical Counseling of India and could start their practice as a doctor.

BDS

Bachelor of Dental Surgery is for aspirants who want to be a dentist.  This is a five-year undergraduate course including one year of internship. To pursue this degree aspirants have to appear in the NEET exam after 12th or equivalent. The minimum age to appear in the exam is 17. Dental Counseling of India is the regulator of the course and entrance exam.

BHMS

This is for the students who want to be a Homeopathic Doctor. BHMS stands for Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery. Different colleges have different qualifications to get admission for this course. NEET( National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is the most preferred qualification and valid everywhere. This is also a 5-year degree course with 6 months of internship. Students can appear after the 12th. After successful completion of the course, anyone can be a Homeopathic doctor or can start self-practice. Many government job vacancies like posts in NRHM require this qualification.

DHMS

This is a more professional way for the Homeopathic medical field. Diploma in Homeopathic Medical and Medicine is a 4 year, with a 6-month internship, diploma course which could start pursuing by any aspirant after class 10th. DHMS is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree; B.Sc. , Students can pursue BHMS only for two years which could be equivalent to a master’s degree; M.sc.

BUMS

Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery is an undergraduate medical course, based on the Greek method of medical science.  The method is brought by Arab and Persian in India in the 11 century. Aspirants would have to qualify in the NEET exam to pursue the five-year course including 1 year of internship. The course regulated by the CCIM – Center Council for Indian Medicine, an organization that works under AYUSH – Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy.

BAMS

Ayurveda is the most ancient medical technique in India and the world. Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is the bachelor’s degree course to be an Ayurvedacharya. This course also takes five and a half years to complete. Students after the 12th can appear for the NEET entrance exam to get admission to any well-known college for BAMS. Like BUMS, CCIM under AYUSH is the responsible body for BAMS.

B.V.Sc(AH)

If you are a science student who has a soft point and service expressions for animals then Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal HusbandryB.V.Sc AH is the best career option for you. This is a five-year course after 12th, related to the caring and treatment of animals. Students can get direct admission for the course, however, some college takes an entrance test to test knowledge and interest of the aspirant.

B.Pharma

Bachelor of Pharmacy is related to the study of medicine. This is a four-year undergraduate course after which aspirants become eligible to run a medical store. After 12th aspirants could get direct admission (some colleges ask for entrance test scores) in any college for the course. After completion of the course, aspirants could have a chance to get hired by top medicine manufacturer companies with a good salary package. Pharma and M. Pharma are relevant courses of B.Pharma. D. Pharma is a two-year diploma course after 12th after which the aspirant could get the license to run a medical store. M.Pharma is a two-year master’s course after B.Pharma.
