The story starts after the Second World War broke out. Two research scholars came to India from England due to the intensity that England was participating in the world which led to the closing of all the educational institutes in the country of England. These two people were none other than the great Scientists Dr Vikram Sarabhai and the hero of our story Dr Homi Jehangir Bhabha who is supposed to be the founder and head of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) which gave birth to the Department of Atomic Energy Graduate Fellow Ship Examination (DGFS).

Let’s get back to our story, post Second World War the disaster was so huge that there was no way the educational institutes of England can be opened earliest possible. So they gave a circular which was passed to their students spread over the globe which stated that they can pursue their educational work provided they do some research or development work in their own country.

Who knew that this would make a drastic change to the development of a country that just became independent from the shackles of Foreign Suppression; this then led to the formation of Indian Space Research (ISRO), Indian Institute of Science (IISC).
