TNPSC Group 4 exam is conducted every year by the Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Typist, Village Administrative Officer (VAO) Officer, Steno-Typist Posts by a minimum qualification of 10th standard. The TNPSC Group 4 Exam is conducted in offline mode, followed by document verification. The department or posts are assigned to the candidates on the basis of the merit list in the following services:

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Group 4 Exam 2023 are as follows: 1. Post-wise Academic Qualifications:
  • Village Administrative Officer (VAO):
    • SSLC passed with minimum marks for admission to higher secondary courses.
  • Junior Assistant (Security), Junior Assistant (Non-Security), Bill Collector, Draftsmen, Typist:
    • SSLC passed with minimum marks for admission to higher secondary courses and Government Technical Examination in typewriting.
  • Steno-Typist (Grade – III):
    • SSLC exam passed with minimum marks for admission to higher secondary courses and Government Technical Examination in both typewriting & shorthand.
  • Field Surveyor:
    • Candidates must be trained in surveys in industrial training institutes.
  • Typing and Stenography:
    • Certification in computer on office automation awarded for the Typist post and Steno-typist.
  • Steno-Typist (Grade–III) in Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board:
    • Must have passed H.S.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to College Courses of studies.
2. Age Limit:
  • Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Typist, and Steno-Typist (Grade -III):
    • SCs, SC(A)s, STs, and Destitute Widows of all Castes: 18 to 37 years.
    • MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, and BCMs: 18 to 34 years.
    • Others: 18 to 32 years.
  • Village Administrative Officer (VAO):
    • SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs, and Destitute Widows of all Castes: 21 to 42 years.
    • Others: 21 to 32 years.
3. Knowledge of Tamil:
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of Tamil.
4. Computer Qualification:
    • For Typist & Steno-typist posts: “Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation” awarded by the Technical Education Department.

Application Process

The TNPSC Group 4 exam must know how to fill out the application form. The steps to fill out the TNPSC Group 4 application form are as follows:

  • Visit the official website of the TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission)
  • Select the New User tab and register on the official website.
  • To register, fill out the personal details like name, date of birth, mobile number and email address.
  • Upon submitting the information, candidates will receive the OTP on their registered mobile number and email address.
  • The registration will be completed after the OTP is entered in the space provided.
  • Now, the application form will appear on the screen
  • Fill out educational details and upload photograph, signature, and other required documents.
  • Pay the TNPSC Group 4 application fee
  • Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
