The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), also known as JEE Advanced 2024, is an all-India entrance examination for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) as well as institutions/universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for JJEE Advanced 2024 are as follows:

Age Limit:

  • There is no age limit for candidates appearing in JEE Advanced 2024.

Qualifying Examination:

  • Candidates must have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or appearing in 2024.
  • Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2021 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2025 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2024.

Minimum Marks:

  • Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in their Class 12th board examination for general category (65% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL).
  • For B.Arch/B.Planning, candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in their Class 12th board examination.

Subjects:

  • Candidates must have studied Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and one more subject of choice in their Class 12th board examination.

Number of Attempts:

  • Candidates can attempt JEE Main for a maximum of three consecutive years.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India or a person of Indian origin (PIO).
  • Candidates must be a resident of India.
  • Candidates must be physically and mentally fit.
