UGC NET Notification 2023 Out: UGC NET December 2023 Notification was released on 30th September 2023 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Every year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the UGC NET exam twice to determine eligibility for Assistant Professorships, Junior Research Fellowships, or both for Indian Universities and Colleges. The online application process for UGC NET 2023 has been extended and interested and eligible candidates can apply online before 31st October 2023 by 11:59 pm. The NTA UGC NET exam is conducted twice in June & December every year. Though there is a provision for conducting the UGC NET exam twice a year. A session of the UGC NET 2023 (December 2023) will be conducted by the National Eligibility Authority (NTA) for the recruitment of Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellows (JRFs). Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UGC NET 2023 are as follows:

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates need a minimum of 55% marks in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from recognized universities/institutions.
  2. Candidates in the Final Year:
    • Those pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course can apply.
    • Candidates awaiting results or facing delays in their qualifying exams can also apply provisionally. However, they must complete their Master’s degree within two years from the date of NET result.
  3. Age Limit:
    • No upper age limit for the role of Assistant Professor.
    • For the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) post, the upper age limit is 30 years.
  4. Relaxations:
    • Third gender category candidates can avail of relaxations in fee, age, and eligibility criteria similar to those prescribed for SC/ST/PwD categories.
    • Ph.D. degree holders with completed Master’s level examination by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%).
  5. Equivalence of Degrees:
    • Candidates with a post-graduate diploma/certificate from an Indian or foreign institution need to ascertain the equivalence of their degree with a Master’s degree from a recognized Indian university through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

Application Process

The candidates may follow the steps given below to apply for UGC NET Application Form 2023

Step 1: Click on the above-mentioned UGC NET Application Form 2023 link to get redirected to the official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: A new window will appear on your screen. If you are a new user, Click on the “New Registration” button to register yourself. Otherwise, fill in your details and click on the “SIGN IN” button.

Step 3: Fill in all the required details: Application Number, Password, Security Pin and then click on login button.

Step 4: Now choose the Exam Centre and the medium of exam for UGC NET 2023 in which you want to attempt the paper.

Step 5: Enter your Aadhar card number, choose your gender, and category and finally select the status of Employment and the status of the Qualifying Exam.

Step 6: Now fill in your Educational Details, the most recent qualification you hold, your percentage etc.

Step 7: After that, you are required to provide your communication address, phone number and email ID.

Step 8: Upload your photo and signature. Both images must be in jpg/jpeg format and must have a white background.

Step 9: You will be directed to the payment page. The payment can be made for the UGC NET 2023 Exam through online or offline mode.

Step 10: Click on the “SUBMIT” button. Download the confirmation page for future reference.

Important Instruction for Photograph and Signature

• The scanned images of the latest photographs and signature should be in jpg/jpeg format.

• The size of the photograph and signature must be of the following dimensions.
