WHAT IS NMAT ? THE NATIONAL MEDICAL ADMISSION TEST
- NMAT: The National Medical Admission Test is a nationwide standardised test for aspirants medical students .Basically it is conducted to higher the standards of selection of those applicants who wish to seek admission in medical school of philliippines ,so NMAT occurs twice a year, generally in the month of March and October.To study MBBS in Philippines NMAT exam is cumpolsaryfor applicants.Additionally ,this test is standardised in such a way that only the brightest and most qualified candidates are able to crack it.
- This exam is conducted two times in of competence in view of assessing their potential as required in the successful pursuit of mrdical education. The score of the NMAT done by the medical student is evaluated carefully and provides valid information before giving admission in any medical college in Philippines. They are encouraged to perform well so that they can get the most ideal score and get admission in medical college to study MBBS. Only graduated students or graduating students of college degree prpgrams are able to take the NMAT. After finishing 12th standard from india,students need to enrol for the BS course .10+2 students are eligible for the NMAT and can select themselves for MD course after finishing the BS course.
OVERVIEW OF THE NMAT EXAM:
Firstly,the NMAT exam is divided into NMAT1 &NMAT2. Further , the NMAT part1 contains the mental ability test whereas the NMATpart2 analyzes the academic proficiency of applicants. In addition, the NMAT part1 includes 4 sub-tests that quantifies the aptitudes which act as a major link with the academic efficiency of the medical aspirants. So, four sub-tests of NMAT part 1 are-
- Verbal sub-test of NMAT: to clarify, it mainly consists of 2 reading comprehension passages and word analogies. This is to say, these two items mainly determine the interferential ,verbal reasoning and analytical abilities of medical students.
- Inductive reasoning sub-test of NMAT; certainly, this section comprises of letters, numbers,and a figurative series of grouping items. And , the purpose is to measure the induction .
DIFFERENCE BETWEEEN NMAT INDIA AND NMAT PHILIPPINES:
NMAT in India is the abbreviated form of NMIMS i.e, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management studies .NMAT in india is an MBA entrance examination conducted for the aspirants of management schools to take admission in any prestigious Business Management School. It has received widespread appreciation as an international management admission exam due to its comprehensive and holistic approach.
MBBS Aspirants might get confused between NMAT conducted in India for MBA i.e, Masters of BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, and NMAT in the Philippines . Both sounds similar but there is a huge difference between the two. NMAT in India is organized for MBA students as national level entrance examination .NMAT in the Philippines is managed to assess medical students in the Philippines .
- ELIGIBILITY FOR THE NMAT 2022:
- Candidate must have finished a degree from any stream with a minimum of 50% combined marks under 10+2+3 or four year study pattern.
- Students in their final year of college are also able to enrol for NMAT 2022.
- There is no age limit for applying to the MBA NMIMS NMAT viaGMAC entrance exam.
- Students with twonor three years of prior work experience are favoured throughout the final selection process.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR NMAT RETAKES AND RESCGEDULES:
It is required that a minimum of 15 days pass between two attempts .students can only schedule a retake once they have completed the prior attempt. Retakes are scheduled on a first –come ,first served basis, and are contingent on seat availability on the planned NMAT date and time. Up to 72 hours before your initial NMAT exam date,you can reschedule your NMAT 2022 exam. THERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT CHANGES IN NMAT 2022;
- Review score immediately- Students have the opportunity of examining their NMAT 2022 score immediately after completing it.In NMAT 2020, this provision was added. This allows the student to assess whether or not their effort is satisfactory . if a candidate believes their scores were not up to mark, they can attempt the NMAT exam after 15 days .
- Candidates have the option of downloading their NMAT 2022 scorecard in the pdf format within 48 hours of the examination . The official NMAT scorecard ,on the other hand , will be available only once the results are announced . The NMAT scorecard is planned to be available .
- A 10% reduction in questions :NMAT 2019 had 120 questions, and NMAT 2022 will have 108 questions split evenly among the three main areas of NMAT.
ICFAI University Hyderabad has released the complete ISBAT 2022 schedule and admission process for MBA admission 2023 in all the 9 ICFAI institutes . ICFAI is the first to announce the schedule of its MBA entrance exam for admission 2023 is awaited . The ISBAT 2022 registration process has started from july1, 2022 and the exam is scheduled in the 4th week of December 2022.
Apart from ISBAT score , all the ICFAI B-schools will also accept scores of CAT, XAT,NMAT,GMAT exams for MBA admission 2023 through ISBAT with a fee of Rs.1800/-
ISBAT 2022 Exam scores will lead to the MBA Admission 2023 in 9 ICFAI B- SCHOOLA. The exam will be held as computer based proctored online test as a moderate difficulty level test. Candidates may appear in ISBAT 2022 from the convenience of their homes instead of going to the test centres. Going by the past trends , the expected cut off for admission in the top ISBAT score accepting Bschool – ICFAI Hyderabad is likely to remain 85+percentile.

APPLICATION FORM OF NMAT:
Any student who wants to take admission in MD is required to fill the application form and score high in the exam .it is a computer -based test ,because of which the student is able to choose the date and venue of the examination as per their choice .
- EXAM PATTERN OF NMAT :
The NMAT exam or National Medical Admission test is a Two part based exam in which part one is for Mental Capacity Check and part second is for academic capability. A total of 200 questions are asked in part1 exam with four subdivision and it is a test of only three hours . it consists of questions related to verbal , inductive reasoning , quantitative and perceptual acuity skills as well as part one measures the competency in academic performance of medical students .Also , a total of 200 questions are asked in part2 exams with four subdivisions and it is a test of only two hours and thirty minutes . it consists of questions related to basic science .
THE NMAT RESULTS:
- The result of the NMAT is released around 20 working days after the examination , after which an applicant can get admission as per the requirenment of the college. The grading system is given in the result from 1to 99+ percentile and 200 to 800 marks .BS course is a degree course which is mandatory as per the American education system ,to get admission into MD course which is equilling to MBBS course in india. There is also a rule in some college in Philippines that if you have done BS from the same college and due to some reason,you are not able to get minimum 40 percent marks in NMAT then that college also makes you eligible to sit for MD but even after that you will not be able to get MD degree unless you have secured minimum 40 percent marks in NMAT.
- If student ,who already completed the graduation from their home country in some of acceptable stream as per the CHED guideline, in that case the BS course would be directly eligible for the NMAT exam and then MD course accordingly.
