If you want to start a new career, an apprenticeship may be the way to go. It’s not only a terrific method to gain experience and get your foot in the door with a firm, but it’s also a great way to earn a steady income while you learn. There are many various sorts of apprenticeships to select from (depending on your past experience) and, contrary to common belief, they are offered in almost every industry – from health and beauty to IT and engineering. So, no matter what business you work in or your age, an apprenticeship may be the best solution for you.

Most internships pay at least the National Minimum Wage, particularly if you’re working as a worker. They also don’t require a long-term commitment to the course, unlike apprenticeships. Aside from being significantly less expensive and time-intensive than you may assume, many of them also result in legitimate qualifications that can help you advance in your profession. They can all be studied at your own pace because they are offered as distance learning courses rather than classroom courses, allowing you to fit them around your present responsibilities. That way, you can keep your normal job while learning a new skill that could help you further your career.

So, you’ve amassed a respectable set of abilities. Working as a freelancer, contractor or consultant allows you to offer your knowledge and experience without having to commit to a traditional 9-to-5 job. And, because you’ll be in charge of your own workload, you’ll have even more time to devote to your course. The best thing is that your sporadic revenue will effectively allow you to fund yourself. If you still require a regular source of income, you may combine it with a well-paid part-time job.
