1. National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore

Established in the year 1987, NLSIU Bangalore was the first-ever Law university in India. It was founded by the Karnataka Legislative Assembly for legal education at the undergraduate and graduate level. With a campus spread over 23 acres, the university also provides hostel facilities. 2. National Law University, Delhi

It is a state-level university started in the year 2008. It has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in addition to an ‘A’ Grade with a score of 3.59 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Admissions and the course curriculum at NLU Delhi are built according to the legal regulations prescribed by the Bar Council of India (BCI). 3. National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR)

A Statute of the State of Andhra Pradesh established the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research in the year 1998. Land rights, disability empowerment and a fight against moral policing and hate speech using the power of the law has been an everyday job of the university.  It has been a part of various collaborative research project with the Centre for Children Law & Ethics, Cumberland School, Samford University, Centre for Disability Law & Policy, University of Ireland,  etc. The University of New South Wales, Australia, Kings College London, UK, University of Warwick, UK, Santa Clara University, USA are the many universities that NALSAR has student exchanges with. 4. National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ)

The National Law University Jodhpur Act sanctioned by Rajasthan State Legislature in 1999 led to the establishment of the university. The NIRF ranking gave it the 4th positive while the Week ranked it 5th among law universities in 2020.  It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) along with being a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Scholars from national and international universities including Harvard and Max Planck visit the campus for research and teaching purposes. 5. The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS)

In 1999, it was established under the WBNUJS Act with the honourable “Chief Justice of India” as the Chancellor. The University was notified under Clause (f) of Section 2 of the UGC Act, 1956 in August 2004 and was granted permanent affiliation by the Bar Council of India in July 2005. It offers 16 courses among three streams. In 2020, Trilegal was one of the top recruiters in the on-campus placement with 21 offers for the passing out batch of 2020. It was ranked 5th by NIRF, 2nd by India Today and 3rd by Outlook in 2019.
