It was unimaginable for all of us that a microscopic organism can wreak havoc in the entire world and can take thousands of lives. This kind of pandemic has happened many times before but in this age of digitalization and social media, where information spread faster than the speed of sound, this novel corona virus created a long-lasting impact that will take years to recover. Not only students but every induvial life has changed drastically, all of a sudden. It is seen that the continued spread of Covid-19, travel restrictions and the closure of educational institutions has a huge impact on the academic field. Here are the impacts of covid – 19 in student life.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching impacts on societies, economies, and individuals worldwide. Some of the major impacts of COVID-19 are:
Public Health Impact: COVID-19 has caused millions of deaths and illnesses worldwide. It has overwhelmed healthcare systems, leading to shortages of medical equipment, staff, and hospital beds.
Economic Impact: The pandemic has caused significant economic disruption, with many businesses closing down and people losing their jobs. It has also led to a global recession and a significant reduction in economic growth.

Social Impact: The pandemic has led to increased social isolation and anxiety, with many people experiencing loneliness, depression, and other mental health issues. It has also disrupted education systems, with many schools closing down or moving to remote learning.
Political Impact: The pandemic has affected political systems, with some governments using it as an opportunity to increase their power and control over their citizens. It has also led to an increase in nationalism and xenophobia in some countries.

STUDENT LIFE BEFORE THE PANDEMIC:

Before this pandemic life was all normal and social. They used to grow up in a society where they get to learn many a thing from neighbors, friends, and teachers and grow up among them. They didn’t have to think twice about going to parks and playgrounds. They used to lead a routine life. students used to have a friendly relationship with the teachers. They were able to question, solve doubts from their teachers. But everything changed all of a sudden. Just after the first worldwide lockdown students were very happy because of a long unexpected holiday but nobody knew that this is going to be much longer than it would take years to recover. But we need to adjust in every kind of situation as according to Darwin’s theory, only the fittest can survive in every situation.

The New Normal:

Covid-19 lockdown and the immediate need to continue with colleges and schools have benefitted the online alternative system. Things are normal for those who can afford a smartphone or laptop and WIFI connection. But for those who cannot afford any of these will face severe problems in the new normal. There are a lot of advantages as well as disadvantages of Covid-19. Keeping in mind both advantages and disadvantages, students need to  move forward and make their future secure, success is inevitable. In this age, where technology is at its peak, students need not focus on the disadvantages of covid but should utilize what they have got. Let us discuss about the positive as well as negative impacts of Covid 19 on student’s life.

Negative Impacts of Covid-19:

Online classes: the adoption rate of online classes is just 50%-60% whereas offline it was 80%-90%. Moreover, small kids, who have lack concentration, cannot sit in front of the blue screen. Online classes affect the eyes of the student due to long hours of exposure in front of the blue screen. Lots of students who belong to poor background do not have access to laptops and computers, for them, education become separate from others.

Cancellation of exams: due to cancellation of exams like class 10 boards, class 12 boards. Students hardly think about studying seriously. And for them, the future becomes darker.

No teacher-student relationships: in offline classes students grew up growing stronger friendly relations with their teachers. But in an online class, both are new to each other and the students hardly express their problems or communicate with their teachers.

Positive Impacts due to Covid-19:

Holidays: During the school and college holidays, students can use their quality in studying and other co-curricular activities in which they are interested. They can spend more time preparing for the competitive exams, entrance exams which become very difficult after attending schools, colleges and completing daily tasks.

Family time: Students can spend quality time with their families, share their problems, and help their parents in their work. Due to work from home option, there is no need to go out for anything and can meet their friend by video calls. They can watch movies with the family after study time and freshen up mentally. Moreover, they can spend time with parents discussing career and come to a proper decision.

Saving time: students can save the time they used to spend on transportation, prayer, sports, chatting with a friend. They are instead spending five to six hours quality time in online classes.

Surely, there are lots of negative impacts like those who deserves good marks are just getting average marks and those who need to study more are escaping. This may affect their career in the future Ans also going to be a foreshadow to the child’s future. But all we can do is to adapt ourselves to this environment and keep hope that everything will go back to normal. Visit careerguide com
