Yes of course for a public relation executive it is very important to have a good inter personal skill. Being a public relation executive you are more likely to interact more with everyone may it be peers, clients, colleagues, sub ordinates and the work it self demands a very good inter personal skill.
If a public relation executive is not good in inter personal skill it will create problem for him/her while interacting with clients and in turn generating leads for the company.

The work of a PR officer is to interact with others and maintain a good relation with all, create a good brand image of company, handle marketing, advertising, all media related issues and events, press conferences etc, vast area of work are there for a public relation officer to do which demand a good inter personal skill.

In the day to day work also we need to interact with lot many people, if you are not good in inter personal skill you cannot present your ideas clearly and you may be interpreted in different way and mistaken by others. so it always a hold a strong position in anybody personality and to project yourself.


Other things are like you will be having ideas and knowledge about certain thing but due to lack of inter personal skill you are not able to convey your ideas properly and your views are not reaching to people.
To build along term relationship with client, as your job demands that it is always better with excellent communication and inter personal skill.
Sometimes you need to give presentations, seminars, attend conference on behalf of your company where you will feel the need of a good inter personal skill.
If you have good inter personal skill you can connect better to people and some times even in emotional level you can connect and retain your clients which will be beneficial for the companies growth in turn will provide growth to your career path and future.
Sometimes in case of getting honest feed back you need to make people comfortable with you which is possible only with good interpersonal skill.
