Hi Bency,
Firstly, I do not get the relationship between Management and Psychology. Though I do agree that you need to have man management skills to be successful as a manager, but Psychology degree focuses on other aspects too, man-management being just a part of it.
Psychologists, are more into, conducting tests and evaluations and providing counseling to employees, which is also the job of an HR person.
In-case if you looking out for HR role, probably knowledge about test would help. But mind you, companies do hire Industrial Psychologists apart from an MBA graduate for such jobs.
As such I feel MBA goes hand-in-hand with your Graduation degree, whereby in MBA you specialize in a particular field and land a job too either through placements or on your own.
Once you join a job, depending on the job requirement, you could pursue a MA correspondence or diploma or certificate course in Psychology.
But still as an MBA I do not feel any need for you to pursue a Psychology course
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
As per my mind logically MBA is a good choice because you have fortified certain concepts and also strengthened most of the topics in your graduation only and it'd be an easy sailing for you to get through MBA, On the other side MA in psychology requires a basic knowledge as well as a sound knowledge of various related concepts, Rest is up to you to decide for sure what you exactly want to do in future. If you get MBA then you may join Industry and be successful there or may be you come up to be an entrepreneur and on the other hand after getting through MA Psychology you may work as a counselor in an organization. To my mind MBA will be a good choice and you may seek admission in one of these renowned institutions - VIT University, Vellore,.............................Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal,..................
Dear Aspirant,
Both have scope. I would like to ask you, where are you suitable for?
What is your graduation in? It appears in Arts.
If you are interested in management, then an MBA would help. If you are interested in psychology and working for schools, hospitals, etc. then MA Psychology is good.
Always remember that every career is good however it is more important to know whether you are suitable for that particular career or no. Good career is an ambition of every person, however you should ensure that you have the right educational qualifications, employability skills and positive attitude.
Please do let me know the above details and I shall definitely help you in shaping your career.
Also, I would recommend you to appear for the Ideal Career Test from CareerGuide.com. This psychometric test will ascertain which career option you are suitable for. This test will judge your aptitude, interests, inter personal abilities, etc. After that you can speak to me through this system.
Best wishes
