SIR , I had made my mind for IIT and had just given class10th exam through ICSE . I DECIDED to join a coaching in kota but few people assisted me to join it after 12th and make my base stronger in 11th 12th. kindly guide me when should I join a coaching and which one.
Dear Siddharth,
Thanks for writing at CareerGuide.com!!!.
I appreciate that you are clear about your career goal. Well, what do you mean by coaching? Do you mean full time coaching ?
Well, many students opt for vacation batch either in 10th, 11th and 12th.
With experience of students, it is recommended to join regular coaching while schooling for the subject that you need coaching.
Full time coaching from Kota would be very beneficial when your basics are clear and you can focus more on practice.
You have asked which coaching to join? There are so many good coaching classes. Join local coaching classes in specific subject and later you may choose coaching classes that specifically prepare for IIT entrance.
Hope I have answered your question.
Best Luck with Your Career,Apurvakumar Pandya, PhD
Dear Aspirant,
Thanks for aproaching us at CareerGuide.com!!!
Happy to see your focus.
It would be definitely good if you get proper guidance, practice if you start working towards joining IIT along side the 11th. Your base will definitely get stronger with coaching from 11th level for two years.
Best Wishes.

Hi There,
Thanks for visiting at CareerGuide.com!!!
Looking at the changing times and demand and the rising levels of difficulty, many coaching classes advertise training right from class 8th.
But since your base is an ICSE board, it stresses on the basics and logical reasoning. So atleast you are prepared for such competitive exams.
It would be best to begin coaching in the middle of your 11th.So that 12th is not a constraint.
Since 12th results are also counted.
Wish you good luck...
Hi,
Thanks for choosing CareerGuide.com!!!
Good that You are clear about your Goals. My suggestion for you is to Start your preparation right from 11th.Reason1. JEE Main & JEE Advanced entrance prescribes NCERT syllabus of 11th & 12th.2. In the Entrance exam you are asked to solved Application based problems with Time LImits. 3. Most Importantly , JEE Advanced have only Two attempts . One the year of appearing for Boards and the very next year
My Suggestion to You is:1.Start you 11th from School or college following NCERT syllabus. Because it will help your preparation as well.2. Start your coaching locally rather than going to Kota. Your focus should be in understanding the concepts at the Boards Level then Go to a Higher Level and then Learn how to solve Application based Problems. 3. Student who do Not go to Kota DO clear IIT and with Good Ranks as well. The Point is Results happens only when a Student spends ample SELF QUALITY time with each and every Topic in a subject.4. Your Time management skills should be very strong. Because you are not expected to solve the entire paper. So you have to train yourself in two years to maximize correct attempts in given time. A rigorous Testing or Mocks provided with coaching can help you with this.
5.Let us say you cleared IIT in the very first year.... fair enough you got it otherwise and afterwise you plan to go to Kota and again do the rigorous practice. Then at this stage it will help you.
If you are a localite of Kota staying away from home will never be a problem for You but when you stay in some other states you go got to think your options. There are many coaching institutes from where students have not only cleared IIT they have done very good in Boards as well..
Hope it gives you some clarity. Please revert for more guidance if you require. All the Best !!!
