JEE, or Joint Entrance Examination, is a national-level engineering entrance exam in India that is considered one of the most challenging and competitive entrance exams in the country. There are 13674 seats as per the category in 23 IIT Institutes. An Engineer from these IITs earns about 8-10 lakhs per annum as a base salary. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) is also an autonomous institute run by the state government and admissions can be taken here through the JEE Main exam only. 17967 seats are available in 31 NIT as per the student’s category.
