1. B.Com

B.Com or Bachelor of Commerce is a three-year undergraduate course. There are 3 different types of B.Com courses available – B.Com general, B.Com Honours, and B.Com LLB. B.Com is a course which covers the different topics of finance and commerce. The subject that is part of the curriculum of this course is- Financial Accounting, Corporate Tax, Economics, Company Law, Auditing, Business Management, etc. Those who want to pursue a career in Finance, Accounting Banking, and Insurance can go for B.Com. Usually, students who wish to pursue Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accounting, and Company Secretary go for B.Com. Candidates aspiring to open their own business or become an entrepreneur can opt for the B.Com course as well.


2. BBA

BBA or Bachelor of Business Administration is a three-year undergraduate
course in Business Management. The BBA course offers knowledge and training in Management and Leadership Skills to prepare them for Managerial Roles and Entrepreneurship. The specializations offered in the BBA program are- Human Resource, Finance, Marketing, Information Technology, etc. The BBA curriculum consists of subjects like Business Organisation, Business Communication, Fundamentals of Accounting, Business Mathematics, Management Concepts & Practices, Organisational Behavior, Managerial Economics, Management Accounting, Business Environment, Business Statics, Marketing Management, etc. The admission of BBA courses is done in two ways –

3. BCA

4. LLB

LLB or Bachelor of Legislative Law is a three-year undergraduate program. This course is perfect for those interested in Judiciary and Law. However, graduates from any stream can get admitted to LLB courses. CA or Chartered Accountancy is a 5-year course but it can take much longer if the candidate takes more than one attempt to clear the exams. The Chartered Accountancy certification comprises education and exams in the field of Business, Taxation, and Accounting. Foundation course is the entry into the course after Class 12, while Direct Entry is for those who have completed Graduation.

6. Company Secretary

CS or Company Secretary is a principal post in a company. The duration of the Company Secretary course is 1-year minimum, depending on the time taken by the candidates to clear the subjects. Candidates who are willing to pursue the Company Secretary course have to undergo different programs and 15 months of practical training to get the Company Secretary credentials. Following are the programs that one has to pursue in the Company Secretary course:

  • Foundation Programme                
  • Executive Programme
  • Professional Programme
  • Management Training.

A CS is responsible for completing the company’s tax returns, keep records, advise the board of directors, and ensure that the company complies with legal and statutory regulations. In India, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is the only recognized professional body to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries. Students applying for the Company Secretary Course after 10+2 will have to register with the Foundation Programme.

7. Certified Financial Planner

The duration of CFP or Certified Financial Planner is 6 months to 2 years depending upon the eligibility and ability of the candidate. This course is suitable for those who wish to pursue Financial Planning as a career and want to help manage people’s financial affairs. The CFP certification program has five exams for six modules, which deal with disciplines like Financial Planning, Investment Planning, Risk Analysis & Insurance Planning, Advance Financial Planning, etc. Students need to qualify for 5 CFP exams of the 6 modules to get CFP certification. Those who have completed Class 12th and are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree course usually register for CFP through Regular Pathway.

8. Bachelor of Economics

Bachelor of Economics is a three-year undergraduate program. The course is designed to train candidates to analyze concepts and processes of the economy by educating them in areas such as nature, scope, concepts, utility, production, market, monopoly, etc. The principal subjects covered in the curriculum are Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Political Economics, etc. The academic requirements are 12th Board Exam Results and some institutions may conduct entrance exams.

9. Journalism and Mass Communication

Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication is a three-year undergraduate program. Candidates who have a curious and inquisitive mind for the various events happening around the world are the right fit for the BJMC course. Candidates who complete BJMC can choose to work for news channels, newspapers, publishing houses, television, radio, internet, etc and earn good remuneration. Candidates should have completed Class 12th in any stream from a recognized board to be eligible to apply for the course or candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% – 60% marks in graduation.
