Teachers are like gardeners who transform a small bud into a blooming flower. They provide the utmost care and nourishment for their students. They devote their entire lives to their students’ growth, development, and success. This difference makes this profession unique in society, as they are responsible for shaping the personality, character and perspectives of the future generation. Apart from educational qualities, a teacher should possess an engaging personality, patience, excellent communication skills and be an honest human being.

Set Your Goal:

If you are passionate about a specific subject, then teaching will prove to be a perfect profession. 

  • If you want to be a successful teacher, you must learn to enjoy being around your teachers in order to become acquainted with them and develop a social personality.
  • One must make sure that they have understood the skills required to become a good teacher.
  • Teaching is a social job and a teacher needs to interact with others in society.
  • Teachers have a lot of patience. They should not be short-tempered as it may not suit the school atmosphere. 
  • A teacher should be flexible and have decision-making ability. 
  • A teacher should be strict enough to enforce rules and take control of the class when necessary.
  • And the most important thing is that a they should be caring. They should take care of their students and help them to be successful in life.

Choose The Level You Want To Teach:

Three categories come under teaching-

  • Primary level (Class 1 to Class V)
  • Secondary level (Class VI to Class VIII)
  • Higher Secondary Level (Class IX to Class XII)

Candidates can choose anyone between the primary and secondary levels, but the higher secondary level is not under direct recruitment. If you want to become a teacher, you must get a degree in individual subjects such as science, math, social science etc. Also, candidates should have a two-year diploma in elementary education with a minimum of 50% marks.

Apply for CTET:

CTET stands for central teacher eligibility test. It is the national teacher eligibility exam whose score is valid across the country. A state teacher eligibility test is also conducted in different states.

  • This test is administered in each state. Applying for CTET may provide you with job opportunities throughout the country.
  • The candidates are notified of the exam in August through popular newspapers and the official website.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET):

The CTET exam is conducted in the month of December every year. The total number of marks available for the examination was 150.The papers will be objective in nature. There are two language papers where English is compulsory and other languages are decided by the candidates from the list of optional languages. The candidate must get a minimum of 60% marks to pass the CTET exam. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a student can take to acquire a CTET certificate. You may also apply again for the CTET exam to improve your score. You need to prepare well for the exam before the examination.

Apply for Schools:

  • The CTET score is valid for seven years from the declaration of the result.
  • Candidates can apply to schools, the central government and schools under the administrative control of the UT.
  • Candidates with a CTET appearance may apply to unaided private schools.

Candidates are also encouraged to apply to private schools other than government schools.
