The National Testing Agency released the notification for CSIR NET 2023 on its official website at https://csirnet.nta.nic.in. Exact date for releasing the notification is confirmed but there is a high speculation that concerned officials may release it by November  1, 2023, once it is released officially, the direct link to apply online will be activated below.

Notification for the CSIR NET 2023 will be released officially by the NTA, a huge number of candidates who took part in the exam are eagerly waiting for release of the notification brochure to apply online, if you are among those who want to take part in the exam then you must know that after the release of notification the window to apply online will be activated on the official website at https://csirnet.nta.nic.in and it will be remain active for four weeks, as soon as it is released officially the direct link to apply online will be also activated here.

Eligibility Criteria

CSIR NET eligibility criteria in more detail:

  1. Nationality:
  2. Age Limit:
    • For Joint Research Fellowship (JRF), the candidate must be not more than 28 years as of July 1, 2022.
    • Age relaxation is provided for different categories:
      • SC/ST: 5 years
      • PWD: 5 years
      • Female: 5 years
      • OBC: 3 years
    • No upper age limit for Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professorship.
  3. Educational Qualification:
    • For General (UR)/General-EWS/OBC candidates: M.Sc. or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B.Tech/B.Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks.
    • SC/ST and PwD candidates: Minimum 50% marks in the specified qualifications.
    • Candidates currently enrolled in M.Sc. or those with a graduation degree can apply under Result Awaited (RA) category, provided they complete their degree within two years.
    • Bachelor’s degree holders are eligible for the fellowship if they register/enroll for a Ph.D./Integrated Ph.D. program within two years.
    • Master’s degree holders before September 19, 1992, with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible for Lectureship only.
  4. Third Gender Category:
    • Eligible for similar relaxations in fee, age, and eligibility criteria (JRF and Assistant Professor) as given to SC/ST categories.
  5. Subject-wise Educational Qualification:
    • Life Science: Academic qualification in Life Science only.
    • Chemical Science: M.Sc./BS/B-Tech or equivalent qualification in Chemistry.
    • Earth Science: M.Sc./BS-MS/BS-4 Years/B-Pharma or equivalent degree in Earth Science.
    • Mathematics: M.Sc./BS-MS/BS/B-Tech or equivalent qualification in Mathematics.
    • Physical Science: M.Sc. in Physics or BS-MS in Physics or equivalent qualification.

Application Process

There are three major steps involved in filling the application form of CSIR NET. These three steps can be completed in multiple sittings as well. The step-by-step procedure to apply for CSIR NET are as follows:

Step I:

  • Log on to the official website.
  • Register using the E-mail ID and mobile number. Make sure to enter the correct email and phone number for future communication.

Step II:

  • Log in using the system generated registration ID.
  • Click on CSIR NET application form link.
  • Upload photographs.
  • Upload signature.
  • Upload all the necessary documents.

Step III:

  • Pay the required fee.
  • Download the confirmation page. If the Confirmation Page fails to show after paying the prescribed fee, the candidate should contact the relevant bank/payment gateway.
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page.
