Who can submit the NMMS application form?

Class 8th Students

Minimum qualifying marks in class VII

Varies as per state. Generally, 55% marks in Class 7 are required for most of the states (50% for reserved categories)

Annual parental income

Less than or equal to Rs. 3.5 lakh

Requirements for the continuation of the scholarship

  • Along with selection, the student must score at least 55% mark (5% relaxation for reserved categories) in the class 8 examination to get a Scholarship in Class 9.

  • Students must pass Class 9 to get a scholarship in Class 10

  • He/she must secure 60% marks in Class 10 (5% relaxation for reserved categories) to get a scholarship in Class 11.

  • Must pass Class 11 to get the scholarship in Class 12.

Who are not eligible to apply?

1. Students pursuing their studies in private schools.

2. Students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik schools.

3. Students studying in residential schools run by state government institutions with facilities like boarding, lodging and education.
