Ashoka University is a leading private institute at par with world-class universities providing liberal education. It was established in the year 2014 and is located in Sonepat, Haryana. Drawn from 30 states and over 243 cities in India and 27 other countries, almost 2200 students are enrolled for its brilliant curriculum encompassing interdisciplinary education through undergraduate and post-graduate programmes led by internationally acclaimed faculty. Through rigorous research and hands-on experience with real challenges, a lot of emphasis is laid on foundational knowledge at Ashoka University. Admission Process for Undergraduate courses

Step 1: You need to register with your personal email ID to begin an application form. All communication between the candidate and Ashoka University will be done through the registered email address.

Step 2: Next, you will fill the application form. It is necessary for you to choose three personal essay prompts, they should be written by the candidate only and should acknowledge the stated prompt in a genuine manner. Prior to enlisting the recommender’s name on the application form, one must get consent. 

Step 3: After the submission of the application within the deadline, you will need to participate in the assessments round. This round is mandatory.

  •  On-the-Spot Essay (30 minutes): Parameters such as critical thinking, clarity of thought, engagement with the prompt and creativity will be evaluated. You will be given a choice between two topics for writing the essay. There is no word limit and no external resources can be used to write the essay. 
  • Ashoka Aptitude Assessment (90 minutes): Built for Ashoka University’s admissions purposes by Cambridge, this aptitude test is based on the Thinking Skills Assessment to evaluate the thinking skills of the applicant. Problem-solving skills (includes numerical and spatial reasoning) and critical thinking skills (includes understanding arguments and reasoning using everyday language) are tested here. With a total of 40 Multiple Choice Questions, the test is designed to be taken with minimal preparation.

Step 4: Your application form along with the Assessments score is analysed by the Admissions Committee and a list of shortlisted candidates is made. Delhi, Mumbai, Bengalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, etc are some of the cities where these interviews are most conducted. If in case an applicant is unable to travel for the interview, an online interview can be conducted.

 Step 5: A panel interview is conducted which seeks to understand and know the candidate closely. The duration of the interview might differ on the basis of the interaction. The purpose of the interview is to evaluate the candidate’s ability to keep up with Ashoka University’s academic and residential life. 

Note: Application forms for financial aid will be opened only after a firm offer of admission has been sent to the candidate by the university.

The library is a well-enriched combination of print & digital media with a collection that includes books, journals, databases, articles, reports, A/V materials, etc. In the testing times of the pandemic, the library is in the process of providing remote (anywhere and anytime) access to eBooks, e-journals open archives and digital resources. Presently, virtual access is available to highly reputed and resourceful journals or databases like The economist, New York Times, Economic & political weekly, Science Direct, Census data, Magzter and a list that keeps growing.

The University provides a brilliant Wi-Fi network reaching out to all the departments, labs and other technical places which makes it quite easier for the students to access the resources for educational purposes. The university also has a different hostel for girls and boys. The rooms are well-maintained and spacious with proper hygiene. The students have also represented the university in a plethora of sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, table tennis, tennis, chess, badminton and Ultimate Frisbee.
