Dear friend, many thanks for your question and I am happy to answer it through Meracareerguide. Let me tell you something about a zoologist. The zoologist study the animals, their behavior, classification and distribution. Technically speaking a zoologist is person who hold minimum a degree of post graduation in subjects like zoology, animal behavior, or animal conservation. The person holding a degree in masters is eligible to get jobs in school, colleges, universities, research institutions and governmental laboratories. I private sector the scope of zoologist are less compared to governmental organization.
The scope of being post graduate in zoology is that, person is eligible to work as research associate, senior research fellow or junior research fellow in research projects. These research projects are time bound projects and generally have a duration of three years and extendable to another one year.
Since the job of RA, SRF and JRAF are technical, therefore, a graduate in zoology is not eligible to apply. The Post graduate in zoology is also eligible to apply for the post of lecturer, assistant scientist or assistant professor in colleges, universities and research institutions. But due to severe competition, the person holding a doctoral degree in zoology have an edge over a post graduate person.
A post graduate in zoology may also be appointed as technical or research officer.

Zoologists

The relevancy of being post graduate in zoology is the vast knowledge a person achieve during two years degree program. The person can work independently can apply logic and carry out research work as per the guidance and research protocol. This thing cannot be expected from a person who is simple graduate.
During research work the post graduate i zoology has to conduct experiment, prepare and analyze data and have to write a technical report. On some ocassions the person is also supposed to present the data in some conferences or symposium.
The other work of a zoologist could be the field job, where the person is supposed to be physically fit and healthy. In field job the person visits forest, mountains, marine area to observe the animals or to collect small animal specimens for laboratory studies.
The zoologist may asked to study the nocturnal animals, here he or she has to spend time during night to observe the animals.
In zoo or in forest department the zoologist may be asked to look after the animals.
Good luck for your future endeavor.
