My dear child,

This is a very common question which majority of students ask and are confused about. First of all be cool that this is absolutely normal, no need to get confused. There are many things which are to be explored.

First is your interest. What are the subjects which are close to your heart and you feel confident about. In tenthstandard children are able to make out this , there is nothing so difficult in finding this out. After you decide on that you can find out various career options available for that particular subject. You can choose the one suits your interest and keeping that in mind you can even select the stream for 12 th studies.

Secondly if this is difficult for you , then you can get your aptitude test done through Mera career guide and read the report it gives. You may not know your capabilities , but this test will reveal all that about you.

Give your self some time and think about what interests you the most , write it down on a paper by numbering them from one to five and then just think about each one of them. You will be able to circle on at-least two fields. This method has helped many students like you. The most important thing is there should not be any pressure from your parents, siblings , friends and class fellows. Free your self from any expectations from any where , just give importance to your interest.

Your % comes in the end because according to my own experience % does not decide your future though every body will tell you that. You may score well in science subjects but if you are not interested in becoming a Doctor or an Engineer then it is of no use. May be you want to go for literature, Psychology etc. Hope i have been able to give you the required counselling for your problem. Wish you all the best in your life and you can ask me again if there is any thing else you want to know.

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello My Dear,

A very very common confusion. I am actually glad that before completion of your SSC you have got this thought of which stream to choose for college. College days are those days which remain as a memory forever, so it is very essential to spend them in peace and happiness by making the right choice of the stream - arts/commerce/science.

I am glad that you decided to approach CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance to your confusion and now you should get relaxed since you are at the right place and forum. My colleague Ms. Jyoti Dhingra has already adviced you nicely, however I would like to put forth my view point too.

Choosing a stream after SSC is not that simple and therefore it has to be chosen by a very serious and sincere study of YOURSELF first.

You should very much ask this question to yourself and just also do a simple google search for words like commerce/bcom or science/bsc... in this you will get the basic primary information about the streams. This will give you an idea of the stream.

I would suggest you to undergo a psychometric evaluation test also available from CareerGuide.com. This test is a very proven test which can actually tell you your career interests, passion, likings, strengths, weaknesses, etc. Knowing all these is very important for you to know for your self since if you choose a stream based on theese, then you are sure to succeed. If you do not give regard to these factors, then you leave a big flaw and you may land in trouble in future.

I hope you will follow our advices.

Best Luck

Hello My Dear College Stream Aspirant,

As I always say and have been saying for more than seven years in career counselling, that choosing a stream particularly after SSc (10th) is definitely and very confusing and its very natural phenomena to get confused. There fore I would like to tell you that dont get more confused or tensed due to your confusion. All most every student at some point or the other gets confused in such situations.

The first step towards removing your confusion you have already taken in the right direction and that is by deciding to approach CareerGuide.com for seeking guidance and advice for your career concern. I am pretty sure that the experts here will be able to guide and advice you appropriately.

Choosing between Commerce and Science:

The very basic test to determine whether you should choose Commerce or Science is answer these questions:
1. Do you like science, maths subjects and have scored maximum in them? If the answer is yes, then you should go for science stream.
2. Do you like civics, history, little maths, etc. If the answer is yes, then you should go for commerce stream.

NOW the above is a very very primary and basic test which needs to be done by you. However there is a great risk factor involved if you decide to take up any one of the stream just based on the above test. If you choose the wrong one, then you will be in trouble.

Psychometric Test:

Further career options in commerce and science are distinct and many and there fore choosing the sright career stream becomes then more important and critical.

Choosing a career option based on this, definitely makes you succeed since what you choose is based on facts about your self and your capabilities.

I hope you will consider this option as the most safe one to decide you future career.

All the very best!
