Hi Bhavya,

Always remember one thing, it is not possible to get a bank job by only preparation for a short time period because bank jobs are very popular these days and there is very huge competition among the candidates who apply for the job.

The difficulty level of the written exam is getting more and more every year.

One should have strong preparation towards all the aspects of the written exam like:

  • Reasoning
  • Numerical Ability
  • General Awareness
  • General English
  • Computer Knowledge

For preparation perspective go through R.S.Agarwal books for Numerical Ability and Reasoning. Practice all the types of questions so that you will not miss any question in the written exam.

For General Awareness, go through the daily news papers and magazines and collect the information regarding current affairs and attempt this section first in the written exam because you can answer the questions from this area in less time as you don't have to do any calculations.
Wish you all the best.

Dear Aspirant,

Good question.

There are no courses for banking exam preparation, however there are training centres which teach you for cracking the banking exams.

Banking exams are competitive since lakhs apply for few thousand of vacancies all over India. Therefore it is very necessary to be well trained and get command over:

  • Reasoning
  • Numerical Ability
  • General Awareness
  • General English
  • Computer Knowledge

The above subjects though are general in nature, require practice. No areas should be weak since it will adversely affect the selection in the shortlisting phase. Also you need to prepare for the Personal Interview round which happens if you clear the written exam.

I would suggest that you can buy the books and also should join a coaching centre for banking exams.

Best wishes

Various exams are conducted for bank recruitment of different posts like - SBI PO, SBI Clerk, IBPS PO, IBPS RRB, RBI Bank exams etc.

But the good thing is, to prepare for these exams, you need to master in some subjects like : Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English & General Awareness.

In most of bank exams, these parts are almost common with a little change in the syllabus. So you can prepare for all these exams at the same time with less efforts.

You can check the complete procedure of Bank PO exam here : IBPS PO Preparation with the best suggested books.

Banking exams are not too much tough, you only need to solve questions in the time with accuracy.

To do so, you should:

  • Practice previous year question papers.
  • Take mock test to analyze performance.
  • Learn short tricks to solve questions quickly.
  • Don't spend too much time on a single question, if you are not getting the right answer.
  • Solve the English , GK, Computer Science sections quickly & save extra time for Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude.

Hope it will help!
