Hi There,
Absolutely right. What people are saying is correct. Please note that if you choose a career based on your likes and interest, it will help you in making a future.
Right now saying it a passion is quite a term. I would say, self introspect and find out where your interest lies in. Since you are a class 10th student, do not waste much time now, because you need to focus on your studies and score well too. But please note that do not make a choice based on the subject you score the highest in.
Marks is not a parameter that you like a subject. Few subjects you may not score, but you may like to explore the subject in-depth or you understand the subject well and do not require much effort to study and would like to learn it more in details.
As a Counselor, I would suggest, after your 10th exams or during breaks, go in for an Aptitude test or a Career Counseling test. The test would reveal your area of interest, likes and Aptitude and your ability. This would help you making a confirmed choice.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
Firstly it is required for you to choose a stream from Science, Commerce and Arts (Humanities) after your 10th. Once you select a stream, then in that stream there are plenty of career options you can choose from.
Every stream has great potential, history and options. Therefore it is very important to choose the stream correctly and not just based on your 10th marks / percentage. You should select the stream based on your marks, interests, aptitude.
For this you should know all the above three perfectly. I feel instead of choosing randomly, please take the Stream Selector Test from careerguide.com. This is a psychometric test which will assess your potential, aptitude, passion, interests. The report gets generated instantly and will tell you your suitable stream which you should select.
Best wishes
Hello Samvid
First of all, I would advise you not to be worried about this phase. Students already have pressure of studies in tenth standard and hence sometimes it becomes difficult to choose the stream and decide about the career you want to pursue.
There are three major streams namely science, commerce and arts and various diploma courses that can be pursued after tenth standard. You must spend good time for thinking and sharing your thoughts with your parents, teachers and friends. However, don’t be influenced by what your friends choose.
The best way to select a stream or a course is to go for a psychometric test. Careerguide.com offers such tests on the website. You can also try one more method. Note down your interests, hobbies as well as dislikes on a page and think where you would like to see yourself in next few years. Now day’s hobbies like blog writing, cooking, photography etc are full time careers that give good remuneration and fame. You will enjoy your job once you choose the stream you like.
All the best
