i am a third year student of mechanical engineering.i want to know the current job scenario for freshers in automobile industry and what should i do to get into companies such as Tata, hero etc. and what could i do to improve my resume?
Hi Rahul,
Who better than you would be able to gauge the job scenario currently. Since you are a student, you would be well aware of the market, as you would be in touch with professionals and or batch mates and are regularly surfing the net and reading the papers.
Though I am well aware, that you might not be following it thoroughly, but here I would request you to keep a note of the market, since you just have a year to go.
Hoping there is a placement in the University, should ease you out, but still keeping a tab is important. At the same time, follow with the ex campus placement to note which companies hired students and their job roles and designations offered.
In the meanwhile, if you could meet professionals, and this can be done online through Linked-IN, or any other social networking sites, you would get a first hand information. At the same time, opt for internship programs during vacation. This is another way to know about the current scenario.
As far as getting into the top notch organizations like TATA etc. Firstly go through their websites and check the Career section and try and upload your Resume in that portal. Mostly references work for getting into these organizations.Another way is to participate in annual workshops whereby companies attend to see and select students and professionals based on their work that they showcase during such seminars and workshops. Try and participate in such seminars and or workshops.
At the same time, prepare an attractive Resume. It should highlight all your achievements during college and other organizations you have worked for. You can also speak about your contributions during internship.Prepare a covering letter and along with your Resume, send it to the organizations.
At the same time, I would suggests, work on gaining knowledge. So try and join in any organization, whereby the focus should be on learning and acquiring knowledge. At the same time be innovative and keep applying.
Hope this helps.Wish you good luck....
