A student who completes his engineering degree as B.Tech or B.E. can apply for the IES exams. IES means Indian Engineering Services which is the exam conducted for the recruitment of the engineers in the Indian Government in the various sectors like railways, roadways, defense, and energy and telecommunication. The IES exam is conducted by the UPSC board for the recruitment. The exam is conducted in the 4 stages which consists the six tests. It is expected by the UPSC board all six tests are to the cleared by the student to get appointed as the IES. IES is a Group ‘A’ designations in the central government of India. As discussed above on successfully qualifying the IES exam a student is appointed in different sectors as the Assistant executive engineer and after completing there to four years they are promoted to the executive engineer. On completing the 20 years of working one becomes the chief engineer level -1. Whereas engineers having a professional experience of 35 years appointed as the secretary to the government of India. Depending on the qualification you hold in a specialized subject you are posted in the respective departments. The appointed of the IES is done by the UPSC board. IES exam is considered as the toughest exam in the world. The appointments for the Group ‘A’ are made by the president of India.
