The BEE Exam, or HCL Tech Bee Exam, is a recruitment exam conducted by HCL Technologies for entry-level IT jobs. The exam is designed to assess the candidate’s aptitude for IT work, including their skills in logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, and English language.

The BEE Exam is open to all students who have completed Class 12 or equivalent. There are no age restrictions for the exam.The BEE Exam is conducted throughout the year in multiple cities. The exam dates are announced on the HCL Technologies website.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the BEE Exam are as follows:

  • For Certified Energy Managers (CEM):
    • Graduate Engineer (B.E/B. Tech) or “Equivalent” along with THREE YEARS of work experience involving the use of energy in operation, maintenance, planning, etc.
    • Post Graduate Engineer (M.E/M. Tech) or “Equivalent” along with TWO YEARS of work experience involving the use of energy in operation, maintenance, planning, etc.
    • Graduate Engineer with Post Graduate degree in Management or “Equivalent” along with TWO YEARS of work experience involving the use of the energy in operation, maintenance, planning, etc.
  • For Certified Energy Auditors (CEA):
    • Graduate Engineer (B.E/B. Tech) or “Equivalent” along with THREE YEARS of work experience involving the use of energy in operation, maintenance, planning, etc.
    • Post Graduate Engineer (M.E/M. Tech) or “Equivalent” along with TWO YEARS of work experience involving the use of energy in operation, maintenance, planning, etc.

The work experience must be in the field of energy, such as energy management, energy auditing, energy conservation, or a related field. The experience must be gained in a commercial, industrial, or institutional setting.

The experience certificate must be issued by a company or organization that is authorized to issue such certificates. The certificate must be on the company’s or organization’s letterhead and must be signed by an authorized officer.

The experience certificate must also include the following information:

  • The name of the company or organization
  • The name of the applicant
  • The applicant’s job title
  • The dates of employment
  • A description of the applicant’s duties

The BEE Exam is conducted by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The exam is held twice a year, in June and December.

The BEE Exam is a multiple-choice exam with 100 questions. Each question carries 2 marks. The exam duration is 3 hours. The exam is conducted in two sessions, each of 1.5 hours.
