  • The written exam consists of Mathematics (Paper-I) and General Ability Test GAT (Paper-II) which comprises English, Science, Humanities, and Current Affairs. 
  • In addition to a sectional cut-off, there is also a negative marking in the NDA exam, which means that if you fail in Paper-I you will automatically fail in Paper-II.
  • Aspirants should concentrate on important/ key topics to ensure that fundamental concepts are understood.
  • Previous year’s question papers and mock series must be solved before the final examination.
  • In the given time constraint, short tricks are useful, especially for the Mathematics portion.
  • Enrich your vocabulary by reading newspapers, which account for 40% of the GAT’s English portion (Paper-II).
  • Memorize the fundamental/ basic concepts of Politics, History, Geography, and Economics.
