Degree in Food Technology seems to be interesting and applicable in the current scenario where scientists have the multidisciplinary approach to the microbiology, industrial biotechnology, food and hospitality at star class hotels etc.



First you have to think critically before leaving your studied course structure as you have spent time, money and effort and now withdrawing in such a manner which gives negative message for yourself before opting any other subject. That is why think judiciously before taking any decision.

Food Technology has very bright scope in industry and academic join interface where you can play key role and earn the handsome salary.

Anyways it is your decision and explore the best suited subject to your background. where you have extreme feasibility to understand the zeat of subject. Please do not forget that you are in a revolving era where economics and commerce are involved at every walk of professional life. At entry level of job your responsibility is not huge but your own expectations will squeeze you at the same time if you are at higher level of position then your responsibility at professional is tremendous and you will be accountable to the given assignments.

I am suggesting you the following combinations for your future career where you can do your best:

1. Food technology + MBA in any of the relevant specialization which gives you new dimension to your career.
2. Food Technology + Hospitality Management gives you star class approach in branded hotels national and internationals
3. Food Technology + Food safety management offers you the RD job at different multinational and PSU sectors
4. Degree in Intellectual Property Right will give you an application based job pursuit which can make use of your food technology background.
5. MS in Environmental Sciences is also equally important for your career.
6. MS in Nanotechnology

Dear Aspirant, I believe that you have a bachelor degree in Food Technology and you are looking after career opportunities. Your degree in Food Technology can fetch you good number of jobs, specially in Industrial sector. You can look for career opportunities in dairy industries (Mother dairy, Cream bell, Paras, Sudha etc), Meat industry (many are in South India), fermentation industries, Food industries (Dabur etc), Beverages industries (involved in beer, wine and liquor fermentation).

Now it depends upon your interest, you have to choose the industry. Since you are garduate, you will be admitted as trainee and later your hard work will take you to higher positions. You will work as technical person, looking after quality control and monitoring, manufacturing aspects of the food products,
Here I would like to suggest you, if you join any industry the you should go for MBA correspondence course. This will give you an added advantage, since your bachelor degree will give you a position of technical person, the MBA degree will provide you an opportunity of being a part of Management.
Therefore, you have to decide what you want to have or achieve, a technical person or a technical person with management skills.
Your masters degree in Food Technology (obviously you will do it with a specialized subject) will direct your choice of career opportunities in specific direction of industries. Again after masters degree a combination of MBA will give you an added advantage compared to others. Definitely you will be having some sort of say in your field.
Lets think something more better, if you go for doctoral degree, then you will have open opportunities in Institutes and Universities along with great options in Industries also. After doing doctoral degree you can work as educationist or scientist. You can make your own research group. You will have great opportunities abroad also. By being educationist (Professor), you can deliver your knowledge to other, what you have learned. And by being researcher or scientist, you will have freedom to work for novel things. You can convert you ideas into practical things. You can develop new technologies in Food technology aspects.
