Dear AspirantWelcome to CareerGuide.comYou have done your 10th and now you want to select a suitable stream for eleventh and twelfth which shall make a career based on scientific research. Nice to hear that. From your thoughts about development and evolution and people, I think you can choose either psychology or paleontology as your career. Paleontology means study of ancient life and human evolution and development. Psychology is study of behavior. For both of these career choices, you need to study basic science which is possible only if you take science subjects in your eleventh and twelfth. Take Physics, chemistry and biology as your choices and you shall see your bright career from there.Alternatively, if you are yet to be decided about your career choice and unsure about the above two options, please take some of the psychometric career tests available online for you. Psychometric career assessment test and skill tests measure your aptitude and suggest the suitable career with which you can shine in your future. Those tests never fail to give you the right the direction.
Hello
Hi There,
Interesting query
This is the most important stage of your career and it is the basis on which your life would revolve around.
It is important to take this seriously, so here my first advise would be to opt for an Aptitude tests and know your potentials and then chose accordingly.
When it comes to choosing a stream in the 11th and 12th, many students are unaware of how subjects change after school. So immediately deciding no Science would definitely be not helpful.
Please note after 12th science, you have the option to shift to any stream like commerce or to ARTS etc.
Since you are interested in evolution and human life, apart from Psychology, you can opt for HomeScience, in that you could specialize with Child development, a subject which studies the childs growth right from the womb till their teens.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
Whenever there is a confusion in your mind and you are not able to decide what to choose, especially after the 10th level of education, it is always better to ascertain your interests through a scientific method. I am happy that you approached the right platform for getting guidance.
As my other fellow counsellors have advised you, I will also advice the same to you and that it to take a psychometric tests.
To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo an online psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which career is ideal for you.You can then call counsellors to discuss.
Best wishes!
I would first recommend you to take STREAM SUGGESTOR TEST at www.careerguide.com. This will help you identify your aptitude, interest and personality trait for suitable career. It will certainly help you choose ideal career within the scope of your interest in development and evolution studies.
You are not interested in science but if you opt for science, then ideal course for you may be BSc in Human Development. These courses are offered in home science colleges. It is a multidisciplinary study of human development. After BSc, you may do post-graduate and PhD.
You may choose Arts stream for 11 and 12th. After 12th, you can do graduation (BA) in archeology, psychology, geology, philosophy, sociology. After graduation, based on your interest, you can give competitive exams in specific area for higher studies or jobs in Government. Other career options after graduation are Journalism and Mass Communication, Management Studies, Social Work, Psychology Professional etc.
Hope this information is useful for taking informed career decision. If you still have queries, feel free to talk to us or write back to us.
