Yes indeed there are some normal requirements physically and UPSC has declared it in its official notification every time. As IAS are meant to be executing policies and run administration from various crucial posts, they are required to fit physically but there is no need to worry taking the requirements in your mind as these are not stringent one and anybody (including Physically Handicapped candidates as specified by UPSC) can fulfill it generally. Only the IPS requires you to posses physically fit body with no deformations of any sort. The reason for such stringent norms for IPS is that the IPS is meant to be work at most challenging situation demanding your presence outside the office where you may be on the mission to spot out Naxalite, in the raid or any such situation which involve leading a police force for security or law and order propose.
