Generally, a bachelor's degree is the minimum education required of a computer engineer. You can do B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science. Almost all the Engineering institutes offer these courses. You will have to write JEE or other state or national level entrance exams in order to qualify and get a seat there.

Most employers require students to hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, and computer information systems. Employers have strong preferences that come with a Computer Science degree from premier institutions. However, if you don't have an Engineering degree doesn't put an end to your ambitions of becoming a Computer Engineer. Here are the few things that you can do if you are not going for a Computer Science degree.

1. Go for BCA if you are below 12th standard. If not you can go for MCA.

2. Get a Science degree along with computers. That is considered valuable in small scale IT companies.

3. You can get an internship under an experienced professional. In this way you will learn a number of technical skills.

4.Professional certification for computer engineers is offered through the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Certification serves as a boost for those looking to accelerate their career in the field of computer engineering.

5. Get yourself familiar with few programming languages, data architecture and algorithms so that given an opportunity of an interview, you can do well there.

Hi,

Greeting's for the day!!!

Computer Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, implementing and testing computer based hardware and software, including the componenets that are found inside the computer equipment, as well as actual devices that contains the computers and the software that runs on those machines. They may also design network that connects computer systems, and work on integrating software programs with computer hardware.

Education Requirements:
To become Computer Engineer, you will typically require a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering.

Reponsibilities of Required Technical Skills:
Since the Computer Engineering field is quite broad, the required echnical skills listed in the job postings you may come across will vary, depending on whether the job is more hardware or software focused, and which industry the employer belongs to. Typically you will need to have the followings:

1. An understanding of the particular computer hardware architecture you will be working with
2. Experience designing, coding and testing softwares
3. Familarity with software test procedures or scripts
4. Expenece building your own PC system
5. Understanding of different Operating Systems, including Windows and Linux, and how certain types of software will work with them.

7. Understanding of Networking and Security
8. Understanding of the (sometimes specialized) software that is typically used in particular industry
9. Knowledge of programming language such as C, C++, Java and othe Object-Oriented languages.

Computer Engineers usually use Computer-assisted software engineering, or CASE , tools to atomate the process. They also test, debug and update programs.

Other Crucial Skills:
Since Computer engineers work closely with programmers, designers, product developers, and testers, they really need to have strong Interpersonal and Communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team.

Fields employing Computer Engineers:
Computer Engineers are likely to find work in a variety of fields, including (but not limited to):
1. Tlecommunications
2. Manufacturing
3. Transportation
4. Product Development

Here are some interesting Niche" areas of Computer Engineering:
1. Working with Radar and Communications Technology
2. Supporting High Performance and Embedded computing systems for nucleur medicines.
3. Military software Support
4. Designing new Motors and Sensors for Robotics Equipments.
