First of all Congratulation for completing your graduation with 60% in B.com you apply for not only C.A. but also for CS/ICWA/CFA/CFP/CIMA etc. Normally it will take a minimum of 3 to 4 years to complete the course even after doing B.com. If you want to do preparation for C.A. you should start it from now.

After b com ca course duration To do this course, fist of all you have to; qualify the common proficiency test conducted by the institute of chartered accountants of India. CPT examination comprise two sessions of 2 hours each, with a break between two sessions and carrying a total of 200 marks consists of four subjects namely fundamentals of accounting, mercantile law, general economics and quantitative attitudes. CPT is an objective type test with negative marking After b com ca course duration.

Subjects for CPT: Session - I (Two Sections- Two hours - 100 Marks)
-Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting ( 60 Marks )
- Section B: Mercantile Laws ( 40 Marks )

After completing the CPT or graduation with required marks one can go for Integrated Professional Competency Course (IPCC). The registration for IPCC is open throughout the year. A student may register at any time during the year. The exam will be held twice a year in May and November, it is necessary that a student must register at least ten months before the examinations After b com ca course duration.

Integrated Professional Competency Course (IPCC) is composed of two levels i.e., Group I, Accounting Technician Course (optional) and Group II. Since you are already a graduate with 60%, you need NOT appear for CPT. You can directly get admission into the IPPC Intermediate course of CA. Therefore, do not bother about CPT at all.

Further only ICAI is authorised to offer CA course through its Chapters Offices and no college or institutes offer this course. Only private coaching classes are available for this, which are not an authorised agency of ICAI.
